About Us
Honoring the Past. Serving the Present. Preserving for the Future.
The Paine Neighborhood Cemetery Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation, protection, and respectful upkeep of the historic Paine Neighborhood Cemetery. Rooted deeply in our community's history, the cemetery is more than a resting place — it is a sacred ground that tells the stories of generations who helped shape our neighborhood.
Founded by local residents with a shared commitment to stewardship and heritage, our association works to ensure that this historic site is maintained with dignity and care. We believe that every life remembered here deserves ongoing respect and that future generations should have the opportunity to learn from the lives and legacies of those who came before.
Our Mission
To preserve the historical and cultural integrity of the Paine Neighborhood Cemetery through community involvement, respectful maintenance, and educational outreach.
Our Vision
A well-preserved, peaceful resting place that honors those buried within and serves as a place of reflection, remembrance, and learning for the entire community.
What We Do
-
Cemetery Maintenance & Restoration: We coordinate regular upkeep, repairs, and restoration efforts to maintain the dignity and appearance of the cemetery.
-
Historical Preservation: We work to document and share the rich history of those interred, many of whom were early residents, community leaders, veterans, and local pioneers.
-
Community Engagement: Through events, volunteer programs, and outreach, we invite neighbors to become active participants in preserving this important piece of our shared heritage.
-
Advocacy & Support: We advocate for the protection of the cemetery from neglect, encroachment, or development, ensuring it remains a respected historical site.
